Zurich Life Active Asset Allocation

Multi-Asset

Managed Balanced (<65% Equity)

The Active Asset Allocation Fund is an actively managed fund which aims to achieve growth through capital gains and income from a well-diversified portfolio of global equities, government bonds, property shares, cash and alternative assets. The alternative assets may include oil, gold, inflation-linked government bonds, water, soft commodities, industrial metals and corporate bonds. Many of the asset classes in this fund have historically had low correlations to movements in equity prices and hence are expected to dampen the volatility of the fund’s returns. Zurich Life’s award-winning team of fund managers actively manage the allocation between the different asset classes. This fund invests some of its assets outside the eurozone so a currency risk arises for a euro investor. As the fund is managed from the point of view of a euro investor any currency hedging that may be conducted will be into euros. This fund is managed by Zurich Life.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Zurich Life Active Asset Allocation.

The Active Asset Allocation Fund invests in a well-diversified mix of global equities, government bonds, property shares, cash and alternative assets. Its alternative assets can include oil, gold, inflation-linked government bonds, water, soft commodities, industrial metals and corporate bonds. The fund is designed to spread exposure across different asset classes rather than relying on one market.

The Active Asset Allocation Fund is actively managed by Zurich Life’s team of fund managers. They adjust the allocation between the different asset classes over time rather than following a fixed mix. This means the fund’s exposure can change as the managers respond to market conditions.

The Active Asset Allocation Fund includes asset classes that have historically had low correlations to equity prices, which may help dampen return volatility. In plain language, that means parts of the portfolio may not move in the same direction as shares, which can help smooth overall ups and downs. However, the fund still includes equities and can fall in value.

Yes. The Active Asset Allocation Fund invests some assets outside the eurozone, so a euro investor is exposed to currency risk. Currency risk means foreign exchange moves can increase or reduce returns when investments are converted back into euros. The fund is managed from the point of view of a euro investor, and any hedging conducted will be into euros.

The Active Asset Allocation Fund may suit an investor looking for a globally diversified, actively managed multi-asset fund with growth and income potential. Its mix of equities, bonds, property, cash and alternatives is aimed at balancing return opportunities with risk reduction. The fund may appeal to investors who want Zurich Life’s managers to make the asset-allocation decisions for them.
