About AIB Life
Key Considerations
Integrated with AIB banking: Pension policies visible in the AIB Mobile Banking app alongside your bank accounts
Fusion Funds monitor risk for you: Continuously monitored to prevent the fund drifting from its original risk level
No switching charges: Move between funds at no cost
Three investment styles: Fusion (monitored multi-asset), Indexed (passive - tracks a market index at lower cost), and Goodbody (actively managed - a fund manager picks investments aiming to outperform)
Majority Article 8 funds: Most funds promote environmental or social characteristics under EU sustainability regulation, without needing to pick specialist funds
Lifestages default strategy: Automatically shifts to lower-risk assets as retirement approaches
Investment Approach
AIB Life offers three distinct investment styles:
Fusion Funds (multi-asset, actively monitored): Risk-rated funds where AIB Life continuously monitors the asset mix and may adjust it to prevent the fund drifting from its original risk level. Available at Risk Ratings 2-6, all Article 8.
Indexed Multi-Asset Funds (passive): Diversified multi-asset funds tracking indices at each risk level. Risk Ratings 2-6, all Article 8.
Goodbody Multi-Asset Funds (actively managed): Multi-asset funds actively managed by Goodbody. Risk Ratings 3-5, all Article 8.
Additionally, single-sector funds provide targeted exposure to specific asset classes (equities, bonds, alternatives).

Frequently asked questions about AIB Life pensions
Fusion Funds are AIB Life's five risk-rated multi-asset funds, all classified as Article 8 under SFDR. They are actively monitored and rebalanced to prevent risk drift - meaning the fund's risk level stays consistent over time regardless of market movements.
Lifestages is AIB Life's default lifecycle strategy for PRSA and PRB products. It allocates more to growth assets when far from retirement and automatically shifts to lower-risk assets as retirement approaches. It is designed with an ARF target in mind and applies automatically to PRSAs if no fund instruction is given.
AIB Life offers 24 funds in total: Fusion Funds (5 risk-rated, Article 8), Indexed Multi-Asset (5 passive, Article 8), Goodbody Multi-Asset (3 active, Article 8), single-sector funds, and one Article 9 fund - Climate Impact Equity. Funds are managed by ILIM with Goodbody as an active alternative.
No. AIB Life does not charge for fund switches. Other charges include an AMC, a contribution charge, a possible early access charge, and a 1% government levy on premiums.
The majority of AIB Life's funds are classified as Article 8 under SFDR. They also offer one Article 9 fund - Climate Impact Equity - which has sustainable investment as its objective. ILIM monitors Principal Adverse Impacts across the fund range.
AIB Life pensions are visible within the AIB Mobile Banking app, alongside your bank accounts. They also provide a Fund Centre website, callback booking, and email/phone support. AIB Life launched in 2023 as a partnership between AIB and Great-West Lifeco.
Fund management is primarily handled by Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM), with Goodbody providing an active management alternative for three multi-asset funds. Both managers are part of the broader Great-West Lifeco group.
