Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Zurich Life Dividend Growth.

The Dividend Growth Fund mainly invests in a diversified portfolio of equities, with an indicative equity range of 80% to 100% of the fund. It also may hold cash or cash equivalents for tactical reasons. The fund focuses on high-calibre companies whose dividend yields tend to be higher than their markets’ average and that may still have room to increase dividends.

The Dividend Growth Fund is actively managed by Zurich Life and looks for companies with sustainable dividends and the capacity to raise them further. It seeks to avoid companies where dividend payments are judged to be unsustainable. In practice, that means the fund is aiming for a mix of income and growth rather than simply the highest current yield.

No. The Dividend Growth Fund invests across regions, including North American, Eurozone, UK, European, Asia Pacific ex Japan, Japanese and South American equities. Because some assets are held outside the eurozone, a euro investor faces currency risk, which means exchange-rate movements can affect returns when foreign currencies rise or fall against the euro.

The Dividend Growth Fund has a risk rating of 5 and its key identified risk is currency risk. It also invests mainly in equities, so its value can rise and fall with stock markets. Currency risk means returns for a euro investor can be affected by changes in exchange rates on the fund’s non-euro holdings.

The Dividend Growth Fund is diversified across sectors including Communications, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Energy, Financials, Health Care, Industrials, Information Technology, Materials and Utilities. Its top holdings include names such as Applied Materials, Cisco Systems, Johnson & Johnson, Verizon, Union Pacific and Amgen. This mix suggests the fund is spreading its dividend-growth approach across a broad range of industries rather than concentrating in one area.
